A lot of nonsense in here. The hockey club Grasshoppers was a very small club and never a real rival for the ZSC, there was also no real fan rivalry between them. It's completely different in football and would never work that way.

I'll have to answer this question in English.

The 2nd part of the puzzle isn't in place yet, so a definite time plan cannot be communicated.
As soon as Mr. and Mrs Canepa sell their shares in FC Zürich, ( which they will do, it's only a matter of time ) then the Masterplan begins to take shape.
The only possible buyer for the shares will be Fosun. We can see how difficult it was to sell the GC shares, it will be almost impossible to sell the FCZ shares to anyone but Fosun.

1 Football Club in the FIFA City, with 2 Stadiums; the Hardturm, for Domestic, and the Letzigrund, for International games.

The Chinese have seen that it worked with the Fusion of the ZSC and the hockey section of GCZ, and that the fans came back and supported the Club, and the Club had success in the Champions League.

There is no reason why it shouldn't happen with the 2 football Clubs as well.

FCZ Lions, with the FCZ Grasshoppers as the U21 team? Or GC Lions? GCZ Lions?
Well, the name will be interesting, and will really be the only point up for discussion.
We can all start making plans for the best solution.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, everyone.
It is the harsh reality of the future of football in Zürich.

That'll be nice. 1 City - 2 dead Footballclubs. GCZ is already dead now, the Piggies shall follow us!

Hail to the yellow Master, Hail to the beloved Badass Plug!

I have never thought about it that way. But now that you've pointed to it, it seems obvious. I still hope that the chinese will eventually fuck off and leave.
But if this should happen, we as the fans and members of this Club need to do everything we can to withdraw the naming rights from that abomination.
It is very obvious when you see it in black and white.
Zürich is the biggest city in Switzerland, with FIFA and all that goes with it, including the FIFA Youth Tournament, the The Best FIFA Football Awards, and all the other attractions, including lake, mountains and banks.
What Zürich hasn't got is a massive football team, let's be honest.
But the potential is there, and with the infra-structure slowly in place. 2 Stadiums, 2 training centres ( for men and women ) and all the talent from the region.

You can see how a whole City gets behind it's football team ( Basel, Bern, St. Gallen ) and how uplifting it is, and it would be awesome here.

Oh, but wait, the fans won't stand for it!

Ja, ja, like the fans didn't stand for FCZ in the kurve in the Hardturm, GC in the Letzi for home games for a decade - and counting, Grasshopper Club being sold to a firm of Chinese Investors, etc., etc

There is nothing that the fans can do.
GC has 2,000 fans, FCZ maybe 5,000 that go regularly.
What if they don't go any more?

Well, firstly, they probably will go, and even if they don't, the next generation will go, especially if success happens, and
secondly, are Fosun really concerned about the money generated by the fans here?

Let's imagine both fan groups stay away from the games.
Season ticket for 300 CHF, times 5,000 = 1,5 Million Franks. I mean really.
The high-end tickets will still be "sold", to Companies and Sponsors and Friends.

Life will go on, football will be played ( even without supporters, see example corona now )

The real profits are only generated if...

1)The Club in Zurich is successful and qualifies for European Competitions.
2)The Club in Zurich can sell all the talents from the Zurich area for profit.

The Grasshopper Club name is safe, theoretically.
GC can start in the lower leagues again.
Which will also be nice.

Everyone wins!

Sort of...

I see no real difference in the scenario.

There are thousands upon thousands of new fans in Zurich who would 100% follow this new team, of that I am sure.
Zürich is growing, it's International, families are moving here from far and wide, the new supporters can easily be found.
If the success comes, the fans will follow, even a good percentage of 'old' fans.

You only have to look at England and the Premier League.
When Roman came we laughed at Chelsea. Rent boys, sold out, etc., etc.
All the old Chelsea fans saying they would never go to Stamford Bridge again, etc., etc.
Who's laughing now? Chelsea with the Champions League trophy, and Premier League, etc., etc.

So many more examples. Red Bull Salzburg, Man City, PSG...

The Plan is to have one team in Zurich. A Men's team and a Women's team.
Two Stadiums, 2 training centres, and probably about 10 - 15,000 new fans.

That shouldn't be too difficult, should it?

It's something that might look possible on the paper, but not in the mind of the people and fans, simply as that.

All the examples you took are takeover of specific clubs and not a merging of rival clubs. Did City buy United? No.
It seems to me that you have no clue of the history of both clubs. (Or you just trolling).

I don't want to be rude, but you do not know a lot about the local football scene in Zurich. I can understand your points, but you clearly underestimate the possible backlash from both sides.
